Our Story

From a Detroit Corner Shop to a National Icon

It started with brothers Eugene and John Jetts and a single store on Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Armed with a recipe for a thick, buttery-crusted square pizza and an unshakeable belief in quality ingredients, they turned a humble storefront into a movement.

Detroit-style deep-dish was not invented in a boardroom — it was perfected through years of listening to customers, refining recipes, and never cutting corners. The iconic Turbo Crust, caramelized at every edge, became our trademark and our promise.

Today, Jet's Pizza operates across more than 20 states, but every pizza still carries that original spirit: fresh dough, real cheese, bold toppings, and the same uncompromising care that started in Detroit.

1978

The First Store Opens

Brothers Eugene and John Jetts open the first Jet's Pizza on Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan, serving their signature square deep-dish with a caramelized Turbo Crust.

1985

Detroit Metro Expansion

After seven years of loyal local following, Jet's expands to 10 locations across the Detroit metropolitan area. The Turbo Crust becomes a regional phenomenon.

1994

Franchising Begins

Jet's Pizza launches its franchise program, allowing passionate entrepreneurs to bring the deep-dish experience to their own communities — with full training and recipe support.

2003

100th Location Milestone

Jet's Pizza celebrates its 100th store opening. What started as a dream in a small kitchen is now a thriving multi-state brand loved by hundreds of thousands of families.

2012

Digital Ordering Launched

Jet's launches its online ordering platform and mobile app, making it easier than ever for customers to customize and order their perfect pizza from anywhere, anytime.

2023 – Today
